Voicemail
- When the message light blinks, press the MESSAGE key (the envelope).
- Enter your voicemail password. The default on Netexem service is 1234 followed by #.
- Follow the voice prompts to play, save or delete messages.
- To record your greeting, press 5 in the voicemail menu and follow the prompts.
Change the default 1234 password to your own after your first login, and record a personal greeting from the same menu. Every voicemail is also emailed to you as audio and text, so you can listen from anywhere.
Transferring a call
- During the call, press the TRANSFER (Tran) key.
- Dial the destination: an extension such as 1001, or a full number such as 7144440550.
- To hand the call over straight away (blind transfer), press B Transfer or hang up. To announce the caller first, wait for the answer, then press TRANSFER again.
If the person has a colleague key on your phone, it is even quicker: press their key once during the call and the call goes straight to them.
Colleague keys (Busy Lamp Field)
- Netexem sets keys on your phone to your colleagues' extensions, each labelled with the person's name. This is called Busy Lamp Field (BLF).
- Read the light: green means the colleague is free, red means they are on a call, and a flashing light means their phone is ringing.
- Press a colleague's key once to call them, with no number to dial.
- During a call, press the colleague's key once to transfer the caller straight to them.
Tell us who you want on your keys and we set them up for you. Phones with few keys can take a key module for more.
Call forwarding
- Dial *72.
- When the system asks, dial the number to forward your calls to, such as your cell.
- To cancel forwarding, dial *73.
Hold and shared hold
- While you are talking, press the line key the call is on (Hold-1, Hold-2 and so on). The caller hears hold music.
- The key turns from green to red, and the same key turns red on every phone in the office, so everyone can see a call is waiting.
- To pick the call back up, press that red key, from your own phone or from any other phone in the office.
Handy when a call is answered at the front desk and taken in a back office: put it on hold, walk over, press the red key.
3-way conference call
- Make the first call.
- Press Conference, then dial the second number.
- When they answer, press Conference again. All three of you are connected.
Repeat the same steps to add more people. Most Yealink desk phones Netexem installs host up to 10 parties; the page for each phone lists its limit.
Intercom
- Dial *8 followed by the colleague's extension, for example *8105.
If a phone stops working: reset and automatic setup
Call us first at 714.444.0550: most problems are fixed remotely in minutes. If a phone does need a factory reset, a Netexem phone sets itself up again automatically: once it is back on the network it downloads its settings by itself and returns with your extension, keys and voicemail. The reset steps for each model are on that phone's page.
Power: network cable or adapter
We recommend powering desk phones through the network cable (Power over Ethernet, PoE): one cable, nothing to plug into the wall. Where an office has no PoE, or a phone runs on Wi-Fi, it needs a power adapter, which is $5 per phone.
Warranty and replacements
Every phone carries Yealink's 1-year limited manufacturer warranty. With a Netexem service agreement we extend that cover for as long as the agreement runs, and we deal with the faulty phone for you: we swap it, you never have to contact Yealink. When a model reaches the end of its life, we replace it with its current equivalent under the service agreement.
Bring your own phones
Already have desk phones? Most standard business (SIP) desk phones work on Netexem service, and under a service agreement our extended warranty covers the phones you bring too. Call us with the make and model and we will confirm before you switch.
Installing it yourself
A Netexem technician installs on site anywhere in Orange County and Southern California, but you can also install the phones yourself. We ship them to your office anywhere in the US, each phone sets itself up when it is plugged in, and we guide you by phone or screen share and send a step-by-step setup sheet.
Guides for each phone
Wi-Fi, Bluetooth headsets and factory reset differ from model to model. Each phone's page has its own steps: see the Yealink T34W, T73W, T74W, T77U, T87W, T54W, T46U and the WH64 headset, or every model on the Yealink phones page.
